About RGU Professional

What is RGU Professional?

RGU Professional is a new way to study with Robert Gordon University. We provide short continuing professional development courses that you can buy and participate in online. Our courses are designed to provide vocational and professional skills to meet demand in industry and from professional learners.

Do I need to apply for a course?

You do not need to apply. Anyone can join RGU Professional online CPD courses.

How will my course be delivered?

All our courses are delivered fully online. After purchasing a course you will be able to access all your learning materials in the course on our web site.

Course duration and schedule

What is the duration of a course?

Our courses range from 1 hour to 5 days of study time. You can complete the study hours in your own time and at your own pace.

When can I start a course?

You can start a course at any time. Purchase your course, create your account and start right away.

How long do I have to complete my course?

You can learn at your own pace and in your own time. Some courses may have to be completed within a set time period as stated in the course catalogue.  If you have not logged in to the RGU Professional site for three years your account will be deleted to comply with our privacy policy.

Certificates

How do I prove that I have completed an RGU Professional course?

On successful completion of a course you will receive a certificate of achievement stating the title and date of completion. You can login to access or print your certificate at any time after completion.  

How can I print my certificate?

You can access your certificate at any time. To print it out, login and click on My Courses. Then click on the certificate icon next to the appropriate course title. This will display your certificate in a new window - use the print icon at the top right of the page.

Registration and account

How do I sign up?

You can create your account when you purchase your first RGU Professional course. You will need to provide an email address on sign up and you'll receive confirmation of your account and purchase by email.

How do I update my name, email address or password?

Login and use the link at the top of the page My Account > Edit Account.

How do I update my billing address?

Use the link at the top of the page My Account > Addresses

I have forgotten my username or password.

Use the Forgot your Password? link on the Login form. We will send you an email to verify it’s you - follow the instructions in the email to update your password.

How do I delete my account?

Use the Contact form to send your request for account deletion. We will send you an email to the email address that you have used to create your account, asking you to confirm your account deletion request.

Payment and refunds

How can I pay for a course?

You can pay for you course using a credit or debit card. To purchase a course, add the course to your basket using the Buy Now button, click Proceed to checkout and complete the payment form.

What are the accepted payment methods?

You can pay for your course using:

Can I get a refund?

Where you have paid for access to an online course, you have the right to cancel your order and to receive a full refund at any time within 14 days of your payment, provided that you have not yet downloaded or accessed the online course.  You can cancel your order by contacting us using our Contact form or emailing professional@rgu.com - please include the title of the course that you want to cancel the order for. You will lose your right to cancel your order as soon as you have accessed or downloaded the Online Course.

Technology and accessibility

What equipment and technology do I need?

All courses can be completed using only a web browser. We recommend you use up to date versions of Chrome, Safari or Internet Explorer. Our courses are designed to be accessible on mobiles, tablets and desktops.

How do I get help with a technical or payment problem?

Use our Contact form to report your problem. Our support hours are from 08:00 to 16:00 Monday to Friday.

Participating in a course

How do I access my course?

Use the My Courses link in the navigation bar at the top of the page.

How do I review my progress?

Go to My Courses and a list of your courses will be displayed. The status bar indicates if you have completed the course. Click the arrow next to the left of the course title to display detailed progress including quiz scores and percentage of the course completed.

 

How will I be assessed?

Final assessments will normally be in the form of an online quiz, unless otherwise stated in the course catalogue.

Will I receive academic support?

All Online Courses provided by us are learner led and no academic support of any kind will be provided unless otherwise specified.
